The Lab Committee meets quarterly to discuss issues and contracts pertinent to their field of expertise. A regular agenda item is a joint quality review of our Lab Reference contract vendors, Quest, Lab Corp and ARUP. Our members developed this team to improve communications plus maintain and enhance the quality of services provided. This committee offers excellent examples of how working together can improve the quality of service provided, and yet maintain extremely competitive pricing required by our laboratories.  The committee also reviews and looks for aggregation opportunities as national agreements are released, for example, the Fisher and Cardinal distribution agreements.

Networking among our lab members is another key benefit provided to them through these quarterly meetings. A great deal of time is set aside for members to discuss various ways of performing tests and complying with regulations.

These meetings rotate among our member hospitals so the Committee can tour the different labs and see the different equipment, how labs are designed, and gather ideas for future changes they may want to institute in their labs.
